To replace my TMJ, I am needing to raise $75,000 to cover medical bills that is not funded by ACC, Local DHB Funding or my top tier medical insurance policy. After my recent second surgery to help slow down dislocations until the surgery in April 2021, we discovered that this cost may increase.
Rare medical conditions and their respective treatments are often underfunded globally, my goal is to raise awareness of the impacts of rare medical conditions can have.
Being a champion for those that can’t access the necessary medical services they need to live full and healthy lives.
In 25 years time, I will need to undergo this surgery again. By this time, my goal is to have made a big enough change to have this surgery fully funded.
A New Jaw isn’t just about fundraising to replace my own jaw, it is about being a vocal advocate for the advancement of funded healthcare for those with rare medical conditions.
